Redskins’ linebacker Lorenzo Alexander continues his “lead-by-example” approach to community service by hosting a free upcoming youth football camp in his native Oakland, Calif.

The 2012 Hold the Line Football Skills Camp is from June 30 through July 1 at Oakland Tech High School.

The camp is hosted by the Alexander-supported ACES Foundation, which strives to support youth through emphasizing self-accountability, taking pride in their community and striving for educational excellence while promoting a healthy mind and body through sports.

The first free session is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is for students in third through eighth grade. The second free session is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is for those students in high school.

The 2012 Hold the Line Football Skills Camp is certainly not the first time Alexander has been known to help the community.

Alexander was named the Redskins’ 2010 Walter Payton Man of the Year recipient, an honor that recognizes players for off-the-field community service as well as excellence on the playing field.

Since entering the league, Alexander has donated more than $60,000 to help reach youngsters in the Oakland and Washington D.C. areas.
